Water Supply Issue
Hamlet Advisory Council for Mt. Lorne passes resolution thanking those that worked on the water supply issue for the district.
With the recent announcement that YTG had conditionally approved the construction of a public water supply for Mt. Lorne our dream of a dedicated facility similiar to those already in operation throughout the Yukon took a giant step forward.
In the Resolution approved by the Hamlet Council local residents Al Foster, Etienne Tardiff and Jess Sellers were singled out for their hard work on a comprehensive survey on the water supply issue that played a large part in convincing Government of the need for such a facility. As well, our MLA and Minister of Community Services John Streiker was also singled out for his work in keeping the project going forward.
If all goes as planned, and the budget allocation here in the Yukon is approved and Infrastructure funding comes through from Ottawa we could see construction started on a site not far from the Community Hall in the next 12 to 24 months.
